you can propagate plants

Time: Mondays between 8am and 2pm

Like to get your hands dirty while staying upright? Come help us propagate the trees and shrubs we use to revegetate Kooragang Wetlands. Work may involve some seed collecting, seed treating and planting, pricking out germinated plants into tubes and weeding tubestock.

Since 1996, more than 130,000 trees and shrubs of species that once grew on the Ash Island site have been propagated and planted at Kooragang Wetlands.

Please bring along your gloves, food and drink requirements, we’ll supply the seeds, tools and know how.

Volunteers inspect seedlings prior to pricking them out into tubes.

Seeds from over 85 species are grown for revegetation of Kooragang Wetlands.

Volunteers care for the some 10,000 plants awaiting planting at Kooragang Wetlands.
