Time: On a needs basis
Various monitoring
studies are undertaken either by KWRP staff or by students and staff
from several universities, government agencies or community
groups. Results are compared to monitoring studies performed before
a particular rehabilitation action to assess the rehabilitation.
There are often opportunities for volunteers to take part in the monitoring
and so contribute directly to the assessment of the project.
Monitoring opportunities exist in the following areas:
- Water levels and quality
- Saltmarsh
- Vegetation
- Mosquitoes
- Fish and crustaceans
- Frogs
- Birds
- Mammals, including bats
- Visitor useage
- Photographic record
